Day 119: Metamorphic Rocks February 28, 2007

trackback

Another day, another rock type:  Today we completed guided notes on Metamorphic Rocks by covering:

  • Two types of metamorphism (contact and regional)
  • An example of a metamorphic rock (calcite + quartz + hematite = garnet)
  • Three textures of metamorphic rocks (foliated, nonfoliated, banded)

The quiz scheduled for tomorrow has been moved to Friday due to today’s gas leak and subsequent evacuation.  Since many students were forced to leave their materials at school, they cannot study tonight (bummer, right?) and so the quiz is now rescheduled for all classes for Friday.  (8th hour will complete today’s lesson tomorrow).  The test is still on for Tuesday.
