Day 53: Isotopes of Pennies Lab November 2, 2006

Posted by Admin in Chemistry.
trackback

After discussing the Pre-lab write-up, students worked in pairs on the Isotopes of Pennies Lab. While completing this lab, remember that the two types of pennies (pre-1982 copper pennies and post-1982 copper-coated zinc pennies) are used to represent two different isotopes of an atom.

Tomorrow, you will be challenged to identify 10 unknown-composition coins in a sealed canister. Remember: your grade on this lab depends on your correct identification of the mystery canister contents!
