trackback

After completing the information on reaction types yesterday, today we moved on to the two main types of chemical bonds: ionic and covalent. After taking a few notes on valence electrons and the two bond types, we completed a scale analysis for the history project about the Acropolis. Tomorrow we will begin reading the Ionic and Covalent Bonds File in class and taking individual notes from the information. After reading the file, all students will take their own notes that give detailed information on each bond type, including the properties of each one with examples as well as the similarities between the two.

With these notes, students will complete a Venn Diagram in class to show the similarities and differences between Ionic and Covalent bonds.
